Natural footpath down to the seaside, reaching the protected bay called Ciolo. A 20 minutes walk, passing a ravine, olive- and figtrees, capers and trullis – the little, round stonehouses, typically for this region.
Situated 60 km in the south of Lecce at the adriatic seaside Gagliano is an authentic and sympathic little town with a good infrastructure and characteristic market on saturdays. Opposite Greece. A magic point. Here in this most southern part of Apulia there is sea everywhere. Finibus Terrae... Enchanting coasts from Otranto to the Cap: small and idyllic places, harbours, accessible grottoes, rocky bays for swimming and fishing off the roads. Crystal clear water. 5 km away from Santa Maria di Leuca, where Adriatic and Ionion sea get together. To the wide sand beaches of Pescoluse, Salve and Ugento only 10-20 km.
